Royalists to travel on Friday ahead of Truro clash

8:51am Wed 7th Jan 09:: written by Steve Spencer

Windsor & Eton FC make the long trip west to Cornwall this weekend for a clash with big-spending Truro City.

The Royalists, who moved top of the league after the New Year's Day win over Uxbridge, have decided to travel down to Truro on Friday and stay overnight ahead of the game to ease the effects of travelling on the morning of the match.

However, with the cold snap wreaking havoc with the Southern League schedule, manager Keith Scott is concerned that his players may end up making a wasted journey.

“We're travelling on Friday so we will be wanting a pitch inspection before we leave,” he said.

“I hope it goes ahead because Î don't want to travel to Truro on a Tuesday night!

“They will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season so it'll be a tough game.”
