No return to Magpies for Manny

4:42pm Wed 1st Oct 08:: written by Nick Meakin

Johnson Hippolyte has poured cold water on rumours that last season’s top scorer Manny Williams is set to make a dramatic return to Maidenhead United FC just months after signing for Conference Premier side Woking.

“Manny gave me a call to let me know that he was available to come out on loan,” the Magpies manager revealed.

“But, unfortunately, we can no longer match his terms. He’s a fantastic lad and we’d have him back here in a shot but we’re not going to break the club’s wage structure.

“I hear that a few Conference clubs are looking at him, so I told him to sit tight and wait for one of them to take him on loan.”

Williams has made only two starts this season for Woking.
