If, and it's a big if, tomorrow's Haydock main event, the Betfred Sprint Cup (3) does go ahead it will be worth looking to horses which like wallowing through the mud.

African Rose has received a lot of support since the monsoon season restarted and, along with US Ranger, should be worth following. US Ranger did his early winning on soft to heavy French tracks but African Rose receives 7lb from him.

The weather should not affect prospects on the all-weather at Kempton where there is some good racing tomorrow.
The London Mile (3.25pm) is a competitive affair with a host of all-weather stalwarts and promising newcomers taking part. One who caught the eye last time was Premio Loco who cruised home on this track after playing up at the start, while Rochefort looked impressive when flying home at Newmarket in August.

Although the National Hunt season is yet to get going, I'm paying a visit to the lovely little track at Fontwell, and one I will be keeping an eye on is Tempsford in the 3.10pm. Tony McCoy takes the ride for Jonjo O'Neill, on a game trier who followed up a good chasing debut with a win at Bangor last time out.
