Former Magpies’  keeper Chris Tardif has joined Bognor Regis Town after a spell with  Southern League Premier Farnborough.

Tardif, 27, joined Farnborough from United in May, but after a change of job was released by mutual consent last month.

He has also played for Basingstoke Town, Oxford United and Havant & Waterlooville.

- The aftermath of an alleged assault on Kentish Town FC coach Clement Temile has seen the club ban one of its players for life.

Temile was allegedly headbutted by one of his own unused substitutes after the Spartan League side’s 2-0 defeat at Wellingborough Town in the FA Cup two weeks ago.

Northamptonshire Police were called and their inquiries into the incident are continuing.

In a statement Kentish Town said: “The player will never play for the club again and we will take legal action against him.”

- Forest Green Rovers manager Jim Harvey has won the Blue Square Premier Manager of the Month award for August. Harvey’s side top the table after six games.

In the Blue Square South, the award went to AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown. Victory on the opening day at Newport County was followed by another four wins.

Southport manager Liam Watson has won the award in the Blue Square North after his side notched up five wins and a draw conceding only two goals to leave them top of the table.

- The first ever ‘fan-approved’ transfer came about as Ebbsfleet United, which is owned by its supporters, agreed the sale of striker John Akinde to Bristol City.

In a vote on website myfootballclub.com, 82 per cent of members who voted gave the go-ahead for the £140,000 deal which had been recommended by manager Liam Daish.

- Anyone watching Setanta’s coverage of York versus Mansfield on Tuesday will have seen a great advert for non league football.

Both teams went at it hammer and tongs for 90 minutes and particularly pleasing was the respect shown to the referee. Let’s hope it continues
