Maids runners tackle the Beast

Twelve Maidenhead Athletic Club runners, with a preference for the more challenging of courses, travelled to Corfe Castle in Dorset to tackle the aptly named Beast - a 14-mile off-road race with numerous hills.

First home for the club, in 34th place overall, was Jon Kew with a time of 1hr 37mins 49secs.

Following on were Jeremy Lockett (1:54.38), Gerry Killen (2:09.28), Darrell Bressington (2:09.28), Martin Palethorpe (2:09.28), Tim Holt (2:09.28), Carolyn Lockett (2:11.00), Delia Rossi (2:17.48), Sayeed Islam (2:17.48), Alicia Hickey (2:31.42), Sue McEwen (2:31.45) and Peter Bark (2:31.45).
