Windsor safe from relegation

Windsor captain Wes Nichols has praised his players for the way they have turned around the club’s season.
Nichols was full of praise for his team mates after seeing his side narrowly missing out on a deserved victory against Chiswick & Latymer on Saturday.
The 15 points gained from the draw all but confirmed Windsor’s safety, a feat that two months ago looked very unlikely.
“It was another very pleasing performance,” said Nichols.
“I was disappointed that we didn’t get the win, and that’s the third or fourth time we’ve ended with a winning draw, but the points have made us pretty much safe for this season.
“That’s very pleasing as that was our main objective at the start of the season.”
Nichols attributes the team’s change in fortunes to improved consistency and the emergence of a certain young spinner.
“Ben Harris has been the difference,” added Nichols. “He’s really come into his own in recent weeks and we’ve been hanging on his coat tails.
“The batsmen have also started improving and, apart from the Datchet game, we’ve been hitting 200 every game.
“Rahul Mohindru has been great with the ball too and I think as a team we’ve just all been performing a lot better.”
Windsor are now comfortably placed in fifth, 34 points shy of top spot but despite the fact four of their final five games being against sides in the bottom half of the table, Nichols is adamant that his side will not break into the top three.
“That won’t happen,” he added. “The sides above us are too good and we’ve dropped too many points already.”
