Maidenhead United manager Johnson Hippolyte has reacted swiftly to replace departing goalkeeper Chris Tardif with Shane Gore from East Thurrock United.
Tardif only joined the Magpies in March and was an integral part of the squad which shrugged off a losing streak to avoid relegation and end the season unbeaten in the last five games, keeping four clean sheets.
Since then Tadif (pictured) has become a father for a second time and elected to cut his travelling from his Portsmouth home by joining Southern League Premier Division club Farnborough.
Magpies boss Hippolyte said: “We’re very pleased to have sorted out some cover in goal.
“It’s a big loss to lose Chris but I’m confident that Shane will be able to come in and pick up where he left off.”
Gore, 26, started life as a trainee at then Football League club Wimbledon at the turn of the century, and after loan spells at Peterborough and Barnet, elected to join Brentford in 2004.
Since then Gore has also played for Stevenage Borough and Havant & Waterlooville.
