A magnificent all round performance over a strong Devon side ensured continuing interest in the Minor Counties Knock-out Trophy for Berkshire CCC.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Royal County amassed 308-4 off their allotted 50 overs thanks largely to a superb 147 not out from Jono McLean.

Berks opening bowler Richard Johnson then took four quick wickets with only 26 on the board before Devon slumped to 226 all out in the 48th to give Berkshire a comfortable 82 run victory.

Johnson (4-24) and off-spinner Carl Crowe (3-45) were the pick of the attack with captain and wicketkeeper Bjorn Mordt snaring four victims behind the stumps.

The final game against Wiltshire is at Trowbridge on 18th May starting at 11.00 am.
