A trio of Marlow rowers have been called up to the Great Britain rowing squad for the World Cup
championship in Munich next week.

The squad is set to include Katherine Grainger, Sarah Winckless and Zac Purchase who all train at Marlow Rowing club and who will compete in the first major event of the rowing season in Germany between May 8 and 11.

Grainger will take part in the women's quadruple with Frances Houghton, Debbie Flood and Annie Vernon who will be trying to make a fourth successive year as world champions in their boat category.

Winkless, a world champion in 2005 and 2006 but who missed the 2007 season through injury, will race in a double with Elise Laverick, invoking memories of their Olympic bronze medal in this boat class in Athens.

The final representative of the Marlow rowing club in the squad will be Zac Purchase who will be partnered with Mark Hunter in the lightweight men's double scull after taking world championship bronze in Munich in 2007.
