Here are this week's top tips for the weekend's horseracing from our resident expert Benny The Book.

Attention this weekend will focus on Newmarket and the Guineas meeting.

The two big races, the 2,000 Guineas on Saturday (3.25pm) and the 1,000  on Sunday (3.20pm), always attract huge crowds to the East Anglia course and with a decent weather forecast the going should provide a true test.

Much of today's coverage has been about leading 1,000 Guineas hope Muthabara who trainer John Dunlop reported as 'a little sore' after training this morning. Dunlop was still hopeful that she would run however.

Jamie Spencer's ride, Spacious, won her maiden last year before taking a Group 2 at Doncaster, but that win showed there was still a need for improvement and this might be a step too far.

I'm looking to Infallible, who scorched home against a decent field on this course a couple of weeks ago with an each-way pound going on Saoirse Abu, winner of two Group 1s in Ireland last year.

Jim Bolger won't be sending her over from Carlow for her health and the 33/1 on offer looks value.
Her stable companion is New Approach, the red-hot favourite for the 2,000 Guineas and she can get the weekend off to a flyer for the Irish yard.

Winner of five on the trot last year including the Dewhurst Stakes, she has triumphed on every type of ground and track.

Again if you fancy trying an outsider for place money, Strike the Deal is surely overpriced at 66/1. Remember, Jeremy Noseda's colt  took Goodwood's Richmond Stakes in August, followed up with a couple of seconds in Group 1 company, ran well in the Breeders Cup and has just come back from Dubai. If that form stands up she must be a big place hope.

As well as the 1,000 Guineas, Sunday sees the running of the Jockey Club Stakes (2.40pm) where one of my favourite horses, Malt or Mash – who found the ground at Newbury far too soft last time – can bounce back to winning ways.

Finally, one for the notebook is Newmarket trainer John Berry's Filemot who looked to be on the up when coming home second in a Folkestone maiden on Thursday at a very tasty 40/1. Cheers Emma!
