One of the stars of Windsor & Maidenhead Bears baseball squad is celebrating his selection for Great Britain in the European Junior Baseball Tournament in Sweden at the end of July.
Jamie Ford will also be joining the GB junior squad to play against the American School at Cobham, as well as returning with the Bears for a new season in the new Southern Area League.
Ford said: "I have had to work hard to recover from a shoulder injury incurred playing for the Bears about two season ago. Sports injury physiotherapy and gym work have really helped to improve my overall core fitness.
"The winter training sessions with the Southern British Baseball Academy led to last weekend's final trials at Manchester where the South beat the North."
On Sunday Bears travelled away to Hemel Hempstead to play Herts Falcons, losing both matches 12-3 and 10-0.
