Reading FC women's team have been crowned champions of the South West Combination League, earning a second successive promotion.

The ladies defeated Plymouth 3-1 at home on Sunday afternoon to finish top.

Goals from Laura Woodley, Rachel Fell and Kayleigh Hines put Frank Rodriguez's team 3-0 up at the break, and although Argyle pulled one back, they stood firm for victory.

The women's team have only been together for two seasons but have secured promotion on both occasions – going 44 league games unbeaten in the process.

Next season will see them play one league below the top flight. Opponents in next season's league include the likes of Cardiff City, West Ham United and Charlton Athletic.
