Kayak daredevil's new speed record attempt

A daredevil kayak enthusiast will once again risk life and limb in an attempt to break the UK speed record.
Maidenhead's Shaun Baker is the world's leading exponent of extreme kayaking after years of death- defying exhibitions in white water.
Last year his name was etched in the Guinness Book of Records for the fourth time after setting the Kayak land speed record on Dorney Lake.
Early next year, with the help of aerospace students at Brunel University, he will attempt to go faster still, in a 2.2m kayak powered entirely on bio fuels.
"I'm not attempting to jump on the green band wagon," said Mr Baker, who lives in Fullbrook Close, Maidenhead.
"Myself and the students are just fascinated to see if we can go faster on plants and waste materials.
"I have a strong desire to carrying on breaking these British records."
The new kayak land speed record attempt is expected to take place at Dorney Lake.
