It was a black day for the area’s rugby teams as both Maidenhead and Marlow rugby clubs were relegated after suffering defeats on the last day of the season.
However, Maidenhead United's footballers offered something to cheer about as their third successive league victory meant they will be playing Conference South football again next season.

The Magpies made it a hat-trick of wins as they impressively defeated play-off chasing Havant and Waterlooville to avoid relegation
Lee Newman gave Maidenhead an early lead before goals from Carl Wilson-Denis and Many Williams completed the comfortable victory.

Reading were outclassed by a free-flowing Arsenal side looking to claim some pride from their disintegrating season.
Goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and Gilberto meant that Steve Coppell's men find themselves firmly in the relegation battle with only three games remaining.

Marlow stormed to a first-half 3-0 lead thanks to Jermaine Roche's double and Aaron Couch before allowing Abingdon back into the gamelate on.
RUGBY:

Coney Hill 20 (14) – Maidenhead (5) 15
Maidenhead had only themselves to blame as they crashed to defeat away at Coney Hill who remain in the South West 1 league.
As relegation rivals Reading lost 25-22 to Bracknell, a Maidenhead win would made them safe and they visitors had a number of chances but Coney held on.

Marlow 17 Henley 22
A last minute converted try relegated Marlow after they had dominated proceedings against fellow strugglers Henley.
