The Magpies unleashed the hounds at York Road and totally overwhelmed Bishop’s Stortford to record just their second league win at home this season.

SOUTHERN LEAGUE S&W DIVISION 1
Taunton Town (1) 3 – 2 (1) Marlow
In a match full of shambolic defending and little purpose, the Blues went down to a disappointing defeat in Somerset. The visitors’ goals came in the 17th minute from Dan Stone and the 70th minute from Aaron Couch.
Burnham (1) 2 – 3 (1) Fleet Town
Burnham’s play-off hopes were effectively dashed at The Gore where they went down by the odd goal in five to play-off rivals Fleet Town. In a match which contained a lot of mistakes, the Blues’ goals came from Graham Lewis (44) and Leon Yarnie (47).
RUGBY
SOUTH WEST 1
Maidenhead (26) 26 – 20 (20) Old Patesians
An entertaining match of contrasting styles saw Maids grab their first win since the middle of January.
Maids looked at their best when scrambling and producing something out of nothing, while Old Patesians were more organised but inflexible.
Maids fullback Warren Abrahams was outstanding in a tense match in which no points were scored after the break. Maids’ tries came from Alex Greer (2), Deego Arends and Abrahams, who also scored six points with the boot.
