Here are this week's top tips for the weekend's horseracing from our resident expert, Benny The Book.

Listening to the rain hammering down on the roof of the Tiser's offices this morning, methinks the going tomorrow at Newbury could turn a bit sticky.

Officially good to soft, I have a feeling that it could pay to look for runners who are at home when the going gets tough, especially as more rain is forecast from late morning.

One possibility is Scarvagh Diamond in the EBF Mares Novices Chase (2.55pm). The seven-year-old has improved steadily this season and her three wins have come on heavy ground. It depends on whether the course can take the rain, but if it looks testing, then she would be my selection. Good value at 12/1 with Tony Dobbin on board.

A couple of decent events tomorrow at Kempton, where the £35,000 Roseberry Heritage Handicap (3.10pm) can go to Richard Hannon's Mr Aviator. With William Buick claiming five pounds he can confirm his form on this track 10 days ago.

In the Magnolia Stakes (3.45pm), one of the hottest early prospects of last season, Diamond Tycoon makes a seasonal reappearance. After blasting home at Newbury in April last season, beating St Leger winner Lucarno and Cambridgeshire winner Pipedreamer, he could only finish ninth in the 2,000 Guineas, but that could have been a race too soon for a youngster. This looks easier and having run well fresh last year, should be in the frame.

For anyone going to Kempton it should be well worth staying on for the Queen's Prize at 5.20pm. All-weather specialist Calculating is never far away and although he was three-quarters of a length second to Buster Hyvonen at Wolverhampton last month, with the weights reversed tomorrow he should sneak it.
