Thicket overcome Desborough

Desborough entertained Maidenhead Thicket and lost a nail-biting mixed friendly against their local rivals by two shots (137-135).

Rink honours were even at 3-3 with one game drawn but a net eight shots collected over the last end by Thicket enabled them to claim the spoils.

Bridget Gaultt, Clare Buckley, Dixie Dixon and Len Bartlett (skip) with a plus-17 scorecard led the way for Desborough.

However, skip Les McDowell, in company with Doreen Windsor, Aby McCabe and Ken Butler, had countered this result for Maidenhead Thicket with a 27-10 win including a four on the last end which helped to ensure their team’s victory.
