Fletcher arrows in to grab points

Learning from the positives of the last league game Maids knew they could dominate using their very strong defence, and this is how it panned out, as they played the ball around with pace, opening up space down their right-hand side.
Ant Jones was particularly effective and created a number of openings which were not taken.
Maids deserved their first goal, scored by Chris Adams from a short corner rebound, to make the half-time score
1-0.
The second half saw Newbury mount a comeback as some sloppy play five minutes into the half allowed them a penalty corner, which was converted.
Undeterred, Maids ploughed on attacking and this was rewarded 15 minutes into the half, as Andrew Wood and Paul Brown down the Maids left opened up space for Nick Fletcher to send his trademark reverse stick shot into the far corner.
The last 10 minutes of the game were very tense with end-to-end play putting pressure on both teams.
But solidity and consistency from Maids allowed them to stay focused, see out the game and take all three points.
Maidenhead: Osbon, Brown, Ferrand, Sood, Joys, A Jones, Wood, Adams, Miall, Nott, Fletcher, L Jones, Harris-Evans.
