Clapp earns pairs head applause

The club, which entered eight crews, came home with four victories after the team performed brilliantly over the  Chiswick Bridge to Hammersmith Bridge course.

Once again it was junior sensation Phil Clapp who led from the front claiming victory in the men’s senior 2 double sculls after teaming up with Carl Delaney.

The pair clocked a time of 12 minutes 43 seconds to ease to victory.
Sophie Delaney and Ally Brooks continued the victory march winning the women’s J18 double sculls in a time of 14.19mins - it was Brooks fourth consecutive win at the event.

Vicky Sims and Natalie Trinder were in fine form to claim a superb victory in the women’s senior 2 double sculls in a time of 14.22mins.

Gabby Watson and Fifi Bevan completed a superb day winning the women’s J16 double sculls in 15.04mins.

Former Maidenhead junior Louise Entwistle, who now represents the University of London Boat Club, won the women’s elite double sculls with Ruth Walza in 13.47mins.

Elsewhere Sophie Wedlake and Carmel Bevan finished third in the women’s J16 double sculls, Gareth Jones and Ken Bedwell won the veterans coxless pairs in 15.40mins with Steve Janish and Piers Alington completing the course in 15.59mins.
