Regatta is moved to Dorney

12:00am Fri 10th Aug 07:: written by Kelly Rawlings

While other towns such as Staines and Henley have had to call off their annual events due to the recent floods, Maidenhead's big event will go ahead - but at Dorney Lake rather than in the town.

The announcement has been made today by event organiser Huw Jenkins.
He said: "The difficulties of boating and marshalling large numbers of crews in a strong stream made the decision necessary.
"However, we are delighted to say that we are instead holding the Maidenhead Regatta at Dorney Lake."

All races and times are as previously published. Racing starts at 9am and finishes at 5.30pm with an hour's break for lunch from 12.30-1.30pm

All the usual facilities will be provided under canvas and the weather forecast is excellent.
