Coyne delighted to be a Rebel

1:00pm Fri 30th Jul 10:: written by Charles Watts

Slough Town’s new signing Paul Coyne says he has settled in quickly to his new surroundings and is looking forward to mounting a serious assault on the title this season.

The combative midfielder signed for the Rebels earlier this month, moving from local rivals Burnham.

Coyne admits it was a tough decision to leave the Blues, managed by close friend Jamie Jarvis, but he is confident he made the right move.

He said: “I’ve settled down really quickly.

“All the lads here are really sound and the management team have been great, they’ve made me feel really welcome.

“The football we’ve been playing has been good and on the floor.

“I’m feeling really good about the move and just want the season to start now.”

Coyne added: “It was a tough call to make the move.

“Jamie is a good friend of mine and I didn’t want to let him down.

“But like I  said to him, the offer was too good for me to turn down.

“Slough are a big club and it was the right move for me.”
