Stone looking forward to season run in

Marlow boss Kevin Stone takes his much improved side to Bromley on Saturday knowing they can still play an important role in the title race.

For much of the campaign Stone admits his side have underperformed with a lack of consistency and defensive lapses costing them dear.

But the Blues can now play with freedom knowing they are unlikely to be relegated or challenge for the play-offs.

And with the weight of expectation gone they could still have a large say in who lifts the division title in May.

Their fine form continued on Saturday with an impressive 2-1 win at home to Leighton Town with Jermaine Roach and Yashwa Romeo finding the net.

And they followed that up with a resilient display at home to Arlesey Town with Romeo on the score sheet once again.

“Saturday was a very good result for us,” said Stone. “And we were very pleased to get the points.

“We have been playing better these past few weeks but need to be more consistent.”
