Jets cruise to easy win

2:42pm Tue 15th Dec 09

Slough Jets bounced back from conceding a shock early goal to cruise to a convincing success against bottom club Romford Raiders on Saturday.

The win kept third placed Slough in touch with Manchester and Milton Keynes who sit above them in the EPL table.

They responded from the shock of Dallas Constanzo's goal on 2.26 by hitting back just seven seconds later through Peter Poljacek.

Drawing 1-1 after the first session the home side took control in the second, firing in five unanswered goals to move into a commanding lead.

Joe Greener made it 2-1 in 22.03 before Poljacek added a third just a minute later. Blaz Emersic hit a fourth and Joe Greener a fifth on 34.36. Emersic added his second of the evening to complete a superb second session for the hosts.

Slough swapped netminders for the third period and gave Charles Kaylor some ice time and the back-up goaltender obliged with a clean sheet for his 20 minutes.

Poljacek completed his hat-trick on 48.05 and earned his man-of-the-match award with his fourth goal, a second powerplay strike, at 53.22 to finish the scoring.
