Football club's plans for 3,000 capacity stadium

This is how Slough's proposed footballing home coudl take shape in the town if it gets the go-ahead from council planners.

Slough Town FC, the Rebels, along with Paradigm Housing Group, is hoping to build a state-of-the-art stadium and playing fields, as well as 81 homes at the Arbour Vale site in Stoke road.

The propsals have been tabled - one with and the other without the West Wing Arts Centre - which the council has been considering moving for months.

The Rebels' proposed stadium, which is not expected to open until 2012, is hoped to have a 3,000 capacity.

A 110 bed hotel has been axed in the revised plans, but a further 19 homes could be built if the West Wing is moved, according to a council report.

  • I was very disappointed with your quote from one lady in above article that was a piece in your paper. It's ridiculous to label football supporters as "drunkens". I follow STFC from a far and have been to a few matches and you could not find a nicer well run community club. For example the clubs supporters walked to Didcot for Charity, which is something they have done in previous seasons as well as raising money for Breast Cancer awareness. Not bad for a bunch of "drunkens".John
