Dean bounce back

12:00am Thu 6th Mar 08

COOKHAM Dean returned to form with a quite scintillating performance against form team Berks County Sports in their Reading Footballl League Senior Division clash on Saturday.
John Brennan opened the scoring before Jamie Handscomb rifled in one of the goals of the season for No.2.
Midfield general Mark Doswell smashed home the third from 25 yards and his free-kick led to the visitors’ captain Dan Purvis netting an own goal in a superb 4-0 triumph which throws the title race wide open once again.
In the Premier Division leaders Cookham Dean Reserves returned from a difficult fixture at Shinfield with a 2-0 victory courtesy of glorious strikes from Ollie Webb and Jon Schaaf.
The news got even better for the Dean’s second string as main rivals Unity lost at home 1-0 to Marlow United Reserves - a result that leaves Cookham four points clear at the top with a game in hand as the matches steadily ebb away for their rivals.
