Jones strikes back

Maidenhead got back to winning ways with two second half goals that saw off a determined Amersham & Chalfont side at Altwood on Saturday.
Victory maintains Maids’ fourth place in the league and puts daylight between them and fifth-placed Sonning.
However, it wasn’t a straighforward victory, Amersham were dogged in a first half that failed to capture the imagination.
Maids needed to do their fair share of defending, but managed to repel Amersham to go into half-time with the game deadlocked at 0-0.
But Maids stepped up a gear after the break, and appeared reinvigorated by the words of Kali Takher, their coach.
They were soon playing with a new found freedom allowing Jez Bodey, Tim Nott and James Luff to give Maids a cutting edge in attack.
It was no surprise when Maids took the lead from a short corner when man of the match Chris Adams fired in a perfectly executed drag flick that rattled into the bottom right hand corner of the goal.
It was 2-0 soon after, this time Ant Jones stepped up to score from a tight angle.
Maids perhaps should have scored more, but they had done enough for victory.
