Train delays to continue all day after Paddington derailment

Commuters are facing more train delays today following the derailment of an empty train at London Paddington yesterday.

The incident, which caused severe delays last night, means fewer trains are able to run on some lines between Paddington and Reading today.

Services running to and from the stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

The disruption is expected to continue for the entire day until 2am tomorrow morning due to damage to infrastructure.

Great Western Railway ticket holders may travel on Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry, South West Trains, London Underground via any reasonable route in order to complete their journey.

Customers travelling between Reading & London Waterloo have also been advised to travel via Guildford or Basingstoke due to Royal Ascot.
