Police are appealing for witnesses as part of the investigation into the murder of an 81-year-old woman in Marlow Bottom.
Officers were called to a house in Ragmans Lane just after 6.30am on Wednesday July 6, where they found a woman's body, who has since been identified as Albertina ‘Tina’ Choules.
A post-mortem confirmed she died of a head injury and her body was set on fire.
A 23-year-old man from High Wycombe was arrested and remains in custody.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone who has any information on the whereabouts of a male, who is suspected of being involved, prior to the incident.
The male is described as white, around 6ft tall, with a wiry build and short cropped dark hair that is slightly longer on top that on the sides. He has very noticeable pale blue eyes.
Detective Chief Superintendant Gilbert Houalla said: “We are appealing for witnesses and would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have seen a man matching the description between the times of 10pm on Saturday July, 2, and 12pm (noon) on Sunday, July 3."
“We are also keen to see if anyone saw a man matching the description between the times of 6pm on Tuesday, July 5 and 8am on Wednesday, July 6."
“We would very much like the public’s help in this matter as it will help us greatly in our ongoing investigation and would ask them to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 530 07/07/2016”.
