Witness appeal after late-night attempted burglary at Co-op

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men broke into a Co-operative food store in Maidenhead on Thursday.

Two men broke into the store in Shifford Crecent at 2.45am. They arrived in a dark coloured BMW before forcing their way through a glass panel. One man was wearing a balaclava.

Police say the men were seen in the store looking at an area where cigarettes would normally have been stored. Staff had removed cigarettes before closing the shop and the men therefore left empty handed.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should phone 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
