Prostitute ordered to pay back £1.6m gift from jailed former Toys R Us boss

A prostitute has been order to pay back money given to her by crooked former Toys R Us boss Paul Hopes (pictured).

Dawn Dunbar was given £1.6 million by the corporate thief, most of which she has already blown.

The 37-year-old, of Didcot, used the money Hopes gave her to buy properties in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and land in her husband's native Nigeria, as well as a £132,000 Bentley and a Lexus 4x4 for herself, a Toyota Landcruiser for her husband and another Lexus for her father.

Hopes became infatuated with her when she was working a massage parlour in Reading.

The father-of-two cooked the books at his employers Toys R Us in Maidenhead and stole more than £3.68m to pay for a lavish double life.

He was caught out in 2008 and is serving a seven year jail sentence.

His sentence will be extended by 10 years if £3.35m - including amounts given to Dunbar and another woman - is not paid back.

Dunbar appeared at Reading Crown Court on November 10 and was ordered to surrender any remaining assets from the £1.6m.

Another enforcement hearing, involving a further £600,000 given by Hopes to Tanya Wieck, is due to take place in the coming weeks.
