Driver, 21 arrested after shop crash

A motorist is being quizzed by police after the car he was driving crashed into a shop in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to Furze Platt Road at 1.30am after a silver Volkswagen Golf smashed into J F C Auto Recycling.

They arrested the 21-year-old driver from Maidenhead at the scene on suspicion of dangerous and drink-driving.

The shop was damaged but a structural engineer was not required.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
