Two bids to broadcast with radio licence

Ofcom has received two applications for the re-advertised FM local commercial radio licence for the Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead area.

The licence is held by Tristar Broadcasting Ltd, broadcasting as Time 106.6.

Time 106.6 has applied to keep it, promising a 'locally-focused radio station designed to appeal to a broad range of adult listeners, particularly those aged 25-64'.

The second bidder is Asian Star Radio, based in the Observatory Shopping Centre in Slough High Street.

It is offering 'a unique service primarily for the Asian communities of the Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead areas'.

Programmes will feature a broad range of local news and information, supported by popular music covering a wide range of Asian tastes.

Email commercialradio@ofcom.org.uk with views on the needs of listeners in this area and the type of service required.
