Woman taken to hospital after collapsing in street

Paramedics were called to Forlease Road in Maidenhead after a woman collapsed on the pavement today.

Passers-by stopped to help the woman who was carrying Tesco shopping bags near the railway bridge before she collapsed at about 10.15am.

Paramedics arrived about 15 minutes later and treated the woman, who is believed to be in her 50's, before she was taken to Wexham Park Hospital.

A spokeswoman for the South Central Ambulance Service said the cause of her illness is 'unknown'.
