Queen's Diamond Jubilee: Attend an event in Berkshire

Are you still deciding which event to attend this weekend to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee? We have put together a round-up of public events across the area.

Friday, June 1:

Maidenhead Norden Farm Centre for the Arts - Queen Painting - A seven foot collage painting of the Queen will be on display at Norden far which will be available to see until Tuesday.


Saturday, June 2:

Burnham Donkey Derby - from 12pm - in Burnham Park, Windsor Lane, Burnham. Organised by Rotary Club of Burnham Beeches. Theme is the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. There will be all the usual races and donkey rides plus performances by Devizes Male Major Wrecks and a female Morris dancing troupe.

Sonning Jubilee Regatta - 9pm – 5pm - Upstream from Sonning Lock, Sonning, Berkshire. Sonning Jubilee Regatta will take place on the Oxfordshire bank of the River Thames.

Datchet Jubilee Party - 12-6pm - Lord Montagu of Beaulieu will visit this event where there will be all sort of activities on the village green in the heart of Datchet. At 3pm the parish chairman will unveil a plaque. Free to attend. 

Marlow Arts and Craft Society Jubilee Exhibition - 10am-5.30pm - at The Church Hall. Art and crafts exhibition in Marlow, 30p admission charge.

Knowl Hill Diamond Jubilee celebration - 12pm – 5pm. Family fun day including vintage cars, birds of prey, bouncy castle, skittles, open gardens and much more.

Burnham: Churches Together service at St Peters Church, Church Street - 6pm. Village churches come together to raise a diamond jubilee toast with free sparkling wine after the service.        

Windsor Museum: Jubilee activities in the museum in Guildhall, High Street - 12-3pm.           

Holyport Village Fair - The Green, Holyport - 2-6pm - The 66th annual fair takes place on the green that is a key fixture in the calendar and draws massive numbers.

Maidenhead Carnival - There will be a number of activites in Kidwells Park. Click here for the full story with details about the fireworks event in the evening.


Sunday, June 3:

Wooburn Green: Big Jubilee Celebration - 12pm - 4pm. Big Jubilee Celebration in the heart of Wooburn Green. Free to attend.

Twyford: Twyford scout Jubilee Donkey Derby & Summer Fair - 12.30pm – 5pm. At the recreation ground in London Hall Road. The 1st Twyford Scouts Jubilee Donkey Derby & Summer Fair with Spitfire flypast. Free entry.

Flackwell Heath: Jubilee Barbeque at Flackwell Heath Royal British Legion  - 12pm – 6pm. Barbecue and live entertainment. Free entry.

Burnham Royal British Legion Jubilee celebrations in Gore Road - 3-11.30pm. A Nepalese bagpipe player will be the star attraction of this celebration which will include food and entertainment.

Windsor Museum: Jubilee activities in the museum in Guildhall, High Street - 12-3pm.           

Windsor jubilee activities - in and around Windsor at various times. A variety of celebrations including The Big Picnic in Alexandra Gardens, Eton Street Party in Eton High Street. And a Hog Roast in Windsor Royal Shopping.

Monday, June 4:

Twyford: Diamond Jubilee Party - 4.30pm - 10.30pm at St. Mary’s Church. £1 children and £3 adults.

Sonning: Sonning Scarecow Trail - 11am – 4pm. Scarecrows of famous faces, floral arrangements and exhibits will be on display throughout the day.

Marlow Jubilee Darts Open - Doors open 11am - at Marlow Royal British Legion. Darts Open tournament - £5 entry, all money in to be paid out. Food available to purchase

Farnham Common - Jubilee Celebrations - 12pm-5.30pm - Farnham Common Junior School and Burnham Beeches. Jubilee celebrations and free games.

Cookham Village Jubilee Party - Cookham High Street - 12pm - 4pm . Entertainment includes fancy dress parade from The Moor at noon, face-painting, competitions, food and children’s activities, live music, live screening of London celebrations.       

Cookham - dragons oven challenge at Bel and Dragon in Cookham High Street - 3pm. Cakes including Victoria Sponge, chocolate and carrot categories can be entered in the competition until 3pm with the winner being declared at 4.00pm.

Cox Green - Diamond Jubilee Party - 1pm – 6pm. Cox Green Diamond Jubilee Picnic.   

Sunningdale: Diamond Jubilee Festival and picnic in the park - 2-6pm at Broomhall Recreation Ground, Sunningdale. The event will feature a variety of entertainment including live music , musical theatre, a full entertainment programme and a grand finale. Tickets: £10, children £5. 

Taplow: Torchlight Procession in Village Green - 9.30-10.30pm - A torch light procession will travel from the village green to the Tappeas Mound with the lighting of a beacon and fireworks display.

Farnham Common Junior School Fun Day - 12pm - TV star Johnny Ball will open a jubilee garden followed by a family fun day at the junior school.

Burnham: Jubilee Beacon Party in Burnham Park, Windsor Lane - 7pm. This jubilee celebration will start at 7pm and include a barbeque, live music and the beacon lighting at 10.15pm.

Windsor Ox Roast in Bachelors Acre, Windsor - 12pm – 6pm. The Windsor St George Rotary Club and Windsor and Eton Town Partnership invites families to enjoy a roasted Ox, children’s activities  and a host of events  throughout the day. To enjoy the day is free but food is £5 for adults and £3 for children

Tuesday, June 5:

Hare Hatch: Diamond Jubilee Party - 10am – 5pm at Hare Hatch Sheeplands. Family fun day followed by jubilee tea party. Tea party only £1 for children and £4 for adults.

Bourne End: Jubilee Picnic - all day in Furlong Road. The Bourne End Community Association is inviting friends and families to enjoy the jubilee celebrations. There is fancy dress fro children and an opportunity to paint the crown jewels.  Free entry.

Sonning: Sonning Scarecow Trail - 11am – 4pm. Scarecrows of famous faces, floral arrangements and exhibits will be on display throughout the day.
