A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug possession after a car he was driving collided with a row of parked cars before flipping onto its roof this week.
He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital by ambulance and is still being treated for head injuries.
Police were called to Windrush Way in Maidenhead at 1.53pm on Tuesday after a silver Ford Kuga veered into a wall and a row of parked cars before being driven away.
Officers tracked the car and tried to stop it before the vehicle was driven off again.
Witnesses say they saw the car driving 'erratically at speed' along Corwallis Road before hitting more parked cars and flipping onto its roof outside Chocolate Hair and Beauty Salon.
Salon beautician Yasmin Choudry, who was working at the time, said: "It was chaos. There was blood and glass all over the road."
The 30-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, disqualified driving, failing to provide a specimen and possession of a controlled substance.
