Consultation launched over plan for nurseries to work together

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead's three nursery schools have launched a consultation over plans to work more closely together.

The nurseries in Maidenhead, Cookham and The Lawns in Windsor are considering forming a federation to lower operating costs and in the long term raise standards for children.

The federation, which could come into effect on May 1, would result in one governing body, but each school will retain its own identity regarding its budget, admissions, performance tables and Ofsted inspection.

A public meeting is being held at The Lawns Nursery School, Imperial Road, Windsor, on Thursday, March 29 at 7pm.

Consultation letters have been sent to parents, staff and governors and any other interested parties can email clive.haines@rbwm.gov.uk with comments before Friday, March 30.
