UPDATE: Man dies after being hit by train

A man has died after being struck by a train this afternoon.

Rail services from Marlow to Maidenhead were cancelled after he was hit by the 1.06pm service from Marlow.

Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said officers were working to establish his identity.

They are not treating his death as suspicious.

The lines which run through Bourne End, Cookham and Furze Platt were closed and a bus replacement service used, with journey times being extended by up to 25 minutes.

Lines were handed back to Network Rail at 2.12pm.
