Reports of violent crime to Thames Valley Police increased by 30 per cent in last year

Thieves targeted a charity shop and a pub in Wootton Way, Maidenhead on Tuesday.

The window of Age Concern was smashed and the bottom pane of glass was kicked in. Although nothing was taken from the till, the charity shop was searched and the empty till drawer was stolen. 

Rebecca Irvin, manager of the shop said the store has been closed for two days while repairs are made.

She said: "We saw they had smashed the window, so we've had to shut the shop whilst it was repaired.

"Although they didn't take any money, we've lost money from the two days trading we have lost."

The shop reopened earlier today.

Thieves, also targeted The Crown pub and forced entry through the back window.

On a neighbourhood alert it states that cash was stolen from a fruit matchine.
