A parish councillor has spoken out over the lack of places at Lowbrook Academy.
Parents were left disappointed last week when their children did not get into the school despite living in the catchment area.
Cox Green parish councillor Ian Harvey claimed the Royal Borough was aware of the need for places as far back as 2009 and should have done more.
He said: “That children cannot attend a school within the locale is difficult enough to understand, but what beggars belief is that the warning signs were highlighted as long ago as 2009/2010.”
However borough councillor Paul Brimacombe (Con, Cox Green) said: “We’re not being complacent, Lowbrook is an outstanding school and everybody is disappointed. We have sent out a letter to all the parents with the facts so they are in the know and we are arranging meetings between the school and the local authority.”
