A Reading Well on Prescription event kicked off at Cox Green Library on Friday , April 22.
It happened as part of a national Reading Well scheme, which aims to provide books to young people who suffer with issues such as anxiety, depression and eating disorders.
The scheme was created by a panel of young people who have experience with mental health difficulties.
Books can be recommended by family doctors, school nurses, counsellors and other health professionals.
Much of the scheme has been put together by Cllr David Coppinger, cabinet member for adult services and health.
Cllr Claire Stretton, the borough’s principal member for culture and communities, said: “We are delighted to support our colleagues, both adults and children, in supporting this service.”
