New-look Sainsbury's for Wootton Way

A spruced-up supermarket was reopened in Maidenhead with the help of schoolchildren today.
Sainsbury's Local in Wootton Way has been closed since November 11 for a revamp and pupils from Larchfield Primary School joined store manager Tim Lane for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
He then presented the children with some Active Kids equipment for the school.
The shop now boasts an improved bakery and hot food including pies, curry and pizza to takeaway and a coffee machine.
Aisles have been widened and three new self-scan checkouts added to help customers complete their shopping as quickly as possible.

- So is the revamped Sainsbuy's now competing with the local Indian take-away next door, and put another family owned business out of business? Hopefully the Ruchi provides better value and better authentic food than generic Sainsbury's curries.
- Sainsburys in Wootton Way has done it again! Their third re-vamp - all they need to do now is hairdressing and they will put all the other shops out of business.
- I couldn't agree more with Caroline, Sainsbury should give us a better choice of food products, rather than trying to put the smaller shops in Wooton way out of business. Give us a deli like Shaws used to have, that's what everybody I know would like to see.
