Flood protection tips for Marlow residents
10:29am Fri 3rd Oct 08:: written by Daniel Darlington
Concerned homeowners are invited to discuss their flooding fears at a protection fair in Marlow on Thursday, October 9.
The event has been organised in response to recent small scale flooding in the area and is set to take place at the Shelley Theatre at Court Garden between 2pm and 5pm.Â
Worried residents will be able to get advice on practical steps to protect their homes and gather a range of information about flood protection devices available to buy.Â
Cllr Neil Marshall, mayor of Marlow Town Council, said: "The Flood Awareness Fair will provide an excellent opportunity for anyone concerned that they may be at risk of flooding to appraise themselves with what measures they can take to protect their own property and discover what support and assistance is available and from whom.Â
"It is good to see proactive measures being taken in what appears to be a period of 'global wetting'."
A variety of activities has been jointly organised by the Environment Agency, the National Flood Forum, the emergency services and Marlow Town Council and Bucks County Council.
