Royal Borough house prices highest in UK

House prices in the Royal Borough are now the highest in the country, according to the latest figures from the Land Registry.

The average house in Windsor and Maidenhead in August costs £341,191 which is nearly double the national average of £174,493.

They exceed figures from pricey housing rivals Greater London, Wokingham and Buckinghamshire, where prices have been slipping since last year.

Maidenhead’s heady prices will leave potential buyers reeling at the prospect of being able to afford a new home as the credit crunch bites and the demand for first homes and family housing continues to grow.
