ROAD CLOSURES: Cannon lane works over three weekends

1:30pm Wed 1st Oct 08:: written by Kelly Rawlings

Drivers are being warned that Cannon Lane in Maidenhead is expected to be closed to traffic over the next three weekends.

The Royal Borough says the closures on October 4 and 5, 11-12 and 18-19 are the result of unexpected complications experienced by council contractors carrying out drainage works in the area under and near the railway bridge.

Bad weather also caused problems with the previous schedule for the works.

The drainage scheme is to help prevent flooding under the bridge, which has caused problems on Cannon Lane in the past.
