Second witness appeal after rape claim

2:51pm Thu 4th Sep 08:: written by Kelly Rawlings

An appeal for witnesses to an alleged rape in Reading has been renewed by police.

A number of people have already come forward with information about the alleged incident on Sunday, August 24, but police now believe the 19-year-old victim was attacked in Harrow Court of Bath Road, rather than Field Road.

They want to hear from anyone who noticed a commotion in Harrow Court at about 12.30am or who saw the victim trying to flag down help on the Bath Road.

The suspect is described as a black man with dark coloured skin, in his late twenties, around 5ft 9ins with a round face, brown eyes and a fat nose.
He was clean shaven and was wearing a dark coloured long sleeved shirt - untucked with the collar turned up - dark blue jeans and dark shoes. He smelt strongly of aftershave.

Call Reading CID on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
