2:44pm Thu 4th Sep 08:: written by Kelly Rawlings

A 'random' alleyway attack by a group of youths has left a man with a fractured jaw and an injured eye.

The assault happened some time between 10pm and 10.30pm in Slough on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old victim was dropped off by car near the BP garage on Wexham Road and walked down an alleyway between Clarendon Court and Kola Court, which leads to The Frithe.

A group of youths approached him near the end of hte alley and assaulted him before running off towards Wexham Road.

Det Sgt Lisa Everard of Slough CID said the motive for the attack was unclear and nothing was stolen.
"The victim can think of no reason for the attack, so at this stage it would appear to be random," she said.

Police believe there were five or six male youths involved, some black and some white and they are thought to have used an unidentified object as a weapon.

Police hope somebody will have witnessed the attack and are asking people to come forward with information.
Call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
