Here are some ideas to keep you entertained on the last weekend in August:

Saturday

Fresh produce will be available in abundance in Maidenhead when the farmers’ market returns to the High Street.
Shoppers will be able to buy a range of local products, including free-range eggs, organic meats, goat’s cheese, homemade cakes, fresh fish, speciality breads and plants.
Stalls at the market will run from 9am-5pm.
A farmers’ market is also held on the second Sunday of every month in Grove Road car park, Maidenhead.

Why not get have your car hosed down by a team of enthusiastic Windsor firefighters?
The men from blue watch will wash your car at their station in St Mark's Road between 10am-3pm, in return for a contribution to the Firefighters' Charity.
The men will also be undertaking a sponsored cycle ride between Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle on Sunday, September 7, in support of the Prince's Trust.

The finest ales from 26 breweries across the country will tingle taste buds at a beer festival in Wooburn Green. The Royal Standard pub on the Common is set to host its first ever beer festival which starts tomorrow Friday and finishes on Sunday evening.

Windsor Great Park's Savill Gardens will be hosting a plant fair.
British growers are offering specialist and rare varieties of plants and prestigious nurseries are offering a wide range of unusual plants. From10am - 5pm. Details on 01784 435 544 or at

Sunday

Community group members will be the hosts for a fun day that take place in Desborough Park.
The event to be held in Larchfield, Maidenhead, will start at midday and finish around 3pm. As well as a free barbecue, residents can expect to see entertainment for children, such as face painting and stencil tattoos.
Larchfield Community Group has teamed up with the Royal Borough, fire service, Maidenhead and District Housing Association and Thames Valley Police to put on this year’s event.

Swan Lifeline charity is hosting an open day at Cuckoo Weir Island, off South Meadow Lane, Eton.
There will be a chance to see the swans and visit the rescue and treatment centre. Also with fun and games, refreshments, home produce between 11am and 4pm.

Larchfield Fun Day will kick off for all the family at Desborough Park for all the family from noon to 4pm. The event is free. Details on 07876 356768.

A bible movie and discussion evening will take place in York Road, Maidenhead. Watch a famous bible story and then chat about it over a cuppa. From 6pm. Details at www.maidenheadchristadelphians.org or 07967 001449.

An open day is being held at the History on Wheels Motor Museum in Eton Wick. There will be a unique collection of motors, both military and civilian from 1900 to the 1950s. £3-£5. Details on 01753 862637 or www.historyonwheels.co.uk

The Shire Horse Centre on the A4 at Littlewick Green is holding a craft fair along with rides on Shire horses Frank and Henry. There will also be a Teddy Bears' Picnic for under fives from 11am-1pm.
