Praise is being given to hardworking students after the Royal Borough released figures showing an upward trend in this year's GCSE exam results.
Following the results day on Thursday last week, provisional figures suggest that there has been a 3 per cent increase in the number of pupils  with five or more A* to C grades – a total of 68 per cent this year.
Also up by 3 per cent is the number of pupils who achieved five A* to C grades include both maths and English.
The borough has highlighted two schools which it says have shown 'exceptional improvements'.
There were record results at Churchmead School in Datchet with a 14 per cent increase in the number of pupils attaining five or more A* to C grades.
In Maidenhead, Altwood School recorded 68 per cent of pupils achieving five or more A* to C grades compared with 53 per cent last year.
Cllr Eileen Quick, the borough's cabinet member for children and young people, said this week: “Once again Royal Borough pupils have proved they have worked extremely hard and they all fully deserve these exceptionally good results.
“Students across the borough – and of course their teachers – a have demonstrated their commitment to achieving good results, and we congratulate them all on their effort and dedication."
These are provisional figures provided by schools, and changes are likely between now and October when figures from the Department for Children, Schools and Families are published.
