One of the last remaining lines of terraced houses in the town centre looks set to be swept away under proposals to create a second shopping centre in Maidenhead.

Householders found out on Friday their homes could be flattened when a leaflet was pushed through their doors outlining the council's vision for the development of the 'triangle'.

It marked the start of a six-week public consultation over draft plans to completely reshape the section of land bordered by Broadway, King Street and Queen Street.
