Traffic was stacked up this morning after the A308 Marlow Road junction with the A404 at Bisham was closed following a collision.
A white Volkswagen van and a blue Honda Civic collided at about 9.38am this morning.
Ambulance crews arrived to find the driver of the Honda trapped in his car.
They used a fire extinguisher to put out some smoke coming from the engine before fire crews arrived.
Fire crews from Maidenhead and the rescue support vehicle from Slough attended.
Maidenhead red watch manager Ian Seurre, said: "The man was trapped by his legs. We took the roof and the door off and had to open up some space between the dash board and his knees."
The man was taken to hospital but was not thought to be seriously injured.
At 12.15pm a police spokesman said the vehicles had been recovered, but the road would remain closed until highways officers had been to clear up the oil spilled on the road.
